The Air Termination Range
Air termination is the part of the lightning protection system that intercepts the strike — rods and terminals mounted at the highest points of a structure, connected through the down-conductor network to the earth termination.
Unitech air rods are manufactured to IEC 62561-2 in solid copper, with tinned copper and aluminium versions throughout the range — diameters from 14mm to 25mm and lengths from 500mm to 2000mm, plus multiple-point finials that screw onto the rod.
Every rod is matched by its bases and fittings: tape and cable bases to IEC 62561-1, ridge bases, brackets, rod-to-tape and cable couplings, and strike pads for flat roofs and exposed conductor runs.
- Air rods to IEC 62561-2 — solid copper, tinned copper and aluminium, 14mm–25mm diameter, 500mm–2000mm long.
- Air rod bases to IEC 62561-1 — for copper tape use and for cable use, in matching materials.
- Matched materials — copper, tinned copper and aluminium across rods, bases and fittings, to suit the conductor system.
- Masts to 10m — free standing and wall mount masts in stainless steel 316 or galvanised steel, suitable for air rods, strike pads and ESE terminals with an adapter.
- Custom sizes on request — other mast sizes and dimensions can be supplied to approved drawings.
