The Conductor Range

Conductors carry the lightning current from the air termination network down to the earth electrode — and form the buried earthing network itself. Unitech manufactures the full range in copper, aluminium, stainless and galvanized steel.

The core of the range is flat copper tape to BS EN 13601 / IEC 62561-2, supplied bare or tinned, and — where the conductor run is visible or needs protection — with LSF, PVC or flame retardant coverings in the BS 5252 colour range. An embossed “CLP” logo version is also produced.

Round conductors cover the rest of the system: 8mm solid circular copper, soft drawn stranded copper from 6mm² to 300mm² (bare or PVC covered), and copper covered steel core. Hard drawn copper bar, flexible copper braid, aluminium tape, stainless steel tape Grade 316 and galvanized steel tape complete the range. Every size and part number is listed below.

  • Copper tape to BS EN 13601 / IEC 62561-2 — fifteen sizes from 20 × 3mm to 50 × 6mm, bare (CT) and tinned (CT…T) part numbers for each.
  • Covered tape options — LSF and PVC coverings to BS 5252 colours, plus flame retardant coverings to UL94 : V0.
  • Round conductors — solid circular 8mm (50mm²) and stranded copper to EN 60228 & BS 6360, from 6mm² to 300mm².
  • Alternative metals — aluminium tape to BS 2898-1350, stainless steel tape Grade 316 and galvanized steel tape for corrosive or cost-sensitive installations.
  • All colours on request — PVC colours to BS 5252; all colours available on request.
